La pandemia me impulsó a publicar capítulos de Reflector, la novela en la que estoy trabajando. El título, Reflector, y la novela en sí, están en construcción.
“Still life” significa naturaleza muerta. “Still…life” adquiere, sin embargo, el sentido opuesto (“todavía hay vida”). El nombre del libro en castellano, inédito, es Todavida.

“Still life” changes its meaning when it is written “Still…life”. The name of the book in Spanish is Todavida.
David Mibashan nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina, en 1957. Luego del golpe militar de 1976 decide, por miedo, irse a vivir a Israel donde se gradúa en Psicología. En 1982 se muda a Canadá y realiza el Máster y el Doctorado en Psicología Clínica. En 1987 publica una novela, Vida y vuelta, sobre el duelo de la novia de un suicida. Es elegido en dos oportunidades para el Consejo Directivo de TWUC (The Writers’ Union of Canada) y escribe numerosos artículos y cuentos cortos.
En 1993 publica Still…Life, una colección de cuentos que recibe reseñas positivas. Poco antes de regresar, luego de veinte años en el exterior, Mibashan comenzó a planear una novela que le insumió veintidós años de planificación y cuatro años de escritura. Trapo de otro piso narra la historia de tres generaciones de una familia que atraviesan desarraigos, cambios de profesión, búsqueda del amor adolescente y finalmente la satisfacción en la edad madura. En el presente, Mibashan recién terminó de pulir Trapo de otro piso, todavía inédita, y está escribiendo una novela, Reflector, sobre las relaciones personales entre tres personajes. Una investigadora de mercado que trabaja para una empresa de explosivos; una solterona que por azar le toca gerenciar un albergue transitorio y un psicólogo obsesionado en investigar científicamente si las mujeres se ponen a propósito delante suyo cuando camina.
David Mibashan was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1957. After the 1976 military coup fear pushed him to move to Israel where he graduated in Psychology. In 1982 he moved to Canada and finished a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology. In 1987 his novel Vida y Vuelta (Return trip to life) was published. The book deals with the bereavement of the girlfriend of a person who committed suicide. David was elected in two opportunities for the National Council of TWUC (The Writers’ Union of Canada).
In 1993 Still…life, a collection of short stories, was published and received positive reviews. Shortly before his return to Argentina, after twenty years overseas, David started to plan a novel that took him twenty two years of organization and four years of writing. Trapo de otro piso (Another kettle of fish) tells the story of three generations of a family crossed by uprooting, changes of profession, searches for the adolescent love and finally the concretion at a mature age. Currently David just finished polishing Another kettle of fish and started writing a new novel, Reflector (Spot) dealing with the personal relationship of the three main characters: a market researcher who works for an explosives company; a spinster who by chance has to manage a love motel and a psychologist obsessed with scientifically investigating whether women cross his path in purpose when he walks.
